‘Vitalelife look and feel good naturally’ is owned and managed by Roechelle Williams, Alison Edmonds, and Andrew Davidson. The three dynamic business owners each bring their particular area of skill and expertise to Vitalelife.
Together the trio share the belief that achieving wellness requires attention to the physical, mental and spiritual self and that at any one time, one or a combination of modalities will be required to help achieve a more complete level of health.
About Roechelle
Co-Owner and Director of Vitalelife look and feel good naturally.
Why did you get involved in the natural health and fitness industry?
In 2002, I owned a franchise in life coaching and leased a consultancy room at Sowelu natural health and fitness centre in Paddington, Brisbane. It was there my eyes were opened to the world of natural health and I saw it was all about nurturing the soul; something I had never thought about before.
I soon realized my life passion was to help people, and when the Sowelu business came up for sale, despite having no background in alternative health therapies I jumped in headfirst because I had seen people follow a different path toward health and literally changing their lives. I wanted to be part of natural health, by living and working in it.
Have you always been your own boss?
Not always. I spent several years in the corporate sector working for a major Australian Telco in Sydney. Prior to this I was pursuing a career in acting for a few years and became a drama teacher for disabled children which was very rewarding….almost feels like a whole other lifetime now.
Why did you become your own boss?
I wanted to follow my life passion and that lead me to being my own boss. I have a strong work ethic, developed while growing up watching my parents run their own business, but in my corporate job I was working up to 80 hours a week and despite having success that afforded me a lavish lifestyle I got to a point where my life was nothing but work and I wasn’t seeing my family and friends. I didn’t want to live like that so when my flat mate introduced me to life coaching I felt a connection with it and followed that path and that’s where I started being my own boss.
How does the Vitalelife wellness philosophy align with your personal path to health and well being?
I believe our external world is a reflection of our internal world and that everything is connected. For myself, I try to keep the work and life balance in check. I make conscious effort to ensure my work load doesn’t get too heavy and out of control because when it does I see it reflected back to me in the people I meet and it affects me physically, as well as my family and friend relationships.
The fitness clinicians at Vitalelife ask our clients about their lives, where the stress loads are and develop individual programs to address any psychological, physical and nutritional needs of that person.
The Vitalelife philosophy is about providing the environment for people to take control and manage their lives through; this can lead to higher levels of wellness.
That’s why the partnership of owners at Vitalelife works well, as we support each other and share in all the responsibilities. It allows us to focus on our individual passions.
Who inspires you?
Everyone can be inspirational, if you only take a moment to stop and listen. It doesn’t matter who they are. I meet people everyday at Vitalelife who inspire me.
What hobbies do you have?
I love to sing and ride my bike. I love socializing, meeting people and sharing conversation about the meaning of life. And time with my family friends is really important.
About Alison
Co-Owner and Director of Vitalelife look and feel good naturally.
Why did you get involved in the natural health and fitness industry?
I have always held a fascination for natural therapies and forever been interested in the concept of non-toxic living. This came to light for me when my new born daughter developed skin irritations from products I was using that I
thought were ‘natural’. What I discovered was that the industry was not very well regulated and in fact a company can claim to be a natural / organic product when only 1% of their ingredients ARE actually natural or organic! I very quickly switched products for my daughter and was delighted to see my beautiful new born’s skin clear quickly. I love the ethos of Vitalelife and am proud to have a business providing natural therapies and ONLY products that are in fact organic, without any hidden ingredients that can be harmful to our bodies.
Have you always been your own boss?
No, I enjoyed a very fruitful 15 years in the corporate world working for a leading Australian telecommunications company. I proudly started in sales in a retail store, enjoying success and many opportunities over time, culminating in a senior management role leading a team of talented people, as the State Manager of QLD/NT. My corporate life took a back seat to motherhood in 2005, and I have happily spent 6 years at home with my children before embarking on the opportunity to become a co-owner at Vitalelife.
Why did you become your own boss?
I am mum to two delightful children and that role in my life is amazing and fulfilling. I also love small business, and thrive on the challenge of making them work. I enjoy the flexibility of being my own boss… it allows for a more balanced life to share time with my family.
Who inspires you?
I like to see the inspiration in everyone and find inspiration in my family and friends on a daily basis. I also find music very inspirational and grounding.
What hobbies do you have?
My passion in life is music and in particular I am a Singer and Singing Teacher. I am a Queensland Conservatorium of Music Graduate and still teach singing to a few favourite students. As a singer I was lucky enough to enjoy many years performing in production shows both here in Australia and overseas and was even nominated for a coveted Australian Entertainment Industry MO Award! I still hold a passion for all things Musical, and always will.
