What happens during a session?
Clients receive a health questionnaire and interview to establish and record a general history with a view to determine the risks of exercise (if any) for the individual. An evaluation of the patient is then done to assess heart rates, functional ranges and restrictions of the affected areas, postural analysis and biomechanical assessment. Generally the initial consult is 45min to an hour. A rehabilitative programme is then designed for the individual according to the findings and facilitated in a separate 45 – 1hour session. It is recommended that a treatment pack of 5 sessions is completed as this allows for optimal time for recovery improvement, facilitation and education of the patient. Once off sessions are available but due to the nature of rehabilitation are not recommended. Special considerations however will be taken into account.

Testimonials
“I have crush fractures in my spine due to osteoporosis and was advised by my Doctor to do some rehabilitation exercise, which I did with Roxy Davies. I found her to be very knowledgeable and encouraging. She even modified exercises for me to do that would suit my ability and mobility. After a few sessions with Roxy, my remedial massage therapist commented that she had never seen me as straight, or my muscles in as good condition as they were now. I can now do simple tasks around the house, like hanging the washing on the line, relatively pain free. Before seeing Roxy, I found even the simple tasks aggravated my pain levels. Roxy also worked out a “home plan” of exercises that I could do at home without spending money purchasing gym machinery or weights. Roxy is a great motivator and has a gentle, but firm, encouraging manner. I would recommend her to anyone who needs the help of an Exercise Physiologist/Biokineticist.”

“Six months prior to a major tennis tournament I commenced regular visits to Roxy in order to increase my strength, improve stamina, and develop greater flexibility. These issues were hampering my progress, and posing obstacles to me achieving my goal, i.e. to be in the top 200 in the ITF world rankings. At the age of 51, I realized that I needed the help of someone who understood both the physiological composition of the body and the specific requirements of the sport that I love. From the outset Roxy treated me holistically, where certain old injuries e.g. lower back and resulting tight glutes, were deftly rehabilitated. I regard the development of a highly customised series of on-court exercises in tandem with efficient hands-on treatment of musculoskeletal issues to be the hallmark of what Roxy is able to do in her biokinetic capacity. I regard Roxy to be an expert in her field, and a total professional evidenced by her willingness to attend my tournament venue in order to address an injury sustained in the early rounds. Roxy Davies helped me reach my goal and I recommend her services wholeheartedly.”
